Special Suites: Villas and Bungalows

There are some luxury hotels, where we can find two different and special type of suites: Villas and Bungalows. Most of them located in countries and islands with warmer climate. Generally, these kind of suites offers the highest luxury, privacy, comfort and size what hotels and resorts can provide their guests. Villas and bungalows are also the most expensive accommodation type, however the exclusivity is worth it.

Separated suites

When we talk about suites, we imagine a wonderful multiple room arrangement in a hotel or resort. Nice view to the city, to the sea, mountains or the jungle, however these suites are always located in the hotel / resort building. If you could walk through the wall, you will find another suite next to you so you always have someone in the neighborhood. Villas and Bungalows are just separated suites. Completely separated from each other, so if you book a Villa or book a Bungalow to stay in, you will get a separate building with all the features that luxury hotel suites have and much more.

Villas – exceptional privacy in luxury

Villas are usually built from building materials used today. They look modern with floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors. They can be single-story or two-story villas. The boundaries of these separated houses are usually well-defined, generally surrounded by gardens. Thanks to this, villas gives the greatest privacy to the guests compared to any other suite types. The location is also very important when we talk about villas. Villas – just like luxury suites – has always the best views and/or the best locations in the resort or the hotel.

Just as in suites, we can find villas with more beds, so if you book a higher categorized villa you can stay in with your whole family or with your friends. Almost every villa has at least an outdoor whirlpool or diving pool, however most of them offer a bigger heated pool as well.

Bungalows – close to the nature

When we talk about bungalows, we mean buildings built from traditional materials, like wood. When designing bungalows, architectures cares to match the future design to the environment and the building follows the architectural habits of locals. This is why bungalows almost always built from local raw materials: using bamboo, exotic woods, coconut fibers, thatched-roof and so on, depending on in which region the bungalows were built.

Bungalows are usually single-story structures with a porch, near to the sea or over the sea (see below: overwater bungalows). It gives a little less privacy than villas, because bungalows are usually not having as well-defined borders as villas. However, you can enjoy the closeness of unspoiled nature surrounded of the bungalows.

Overwater bungalows – the dream of honeymooners

Also known as overwater suites (or in some places: overwater villas). Overwater bungalows are special type of bungalows, built into the water at top of piles. These bungalows are not floated. These houses are built robustly into the shallow water, and the waves do not affect them. These type of bungalows are very rare, only few exotic destinations (Bali, The Maldives, French Polynesia, etc…) offer it and can be more expensive too, compare to normal bungalows.
